ARTIST STATEMENT Sue
Gonzalez has a remarkable ability to capture the ever-changing light
and ephemeral texture of water in constant motion. Her perspective and
composition draw attention to the water’s surface qualities and at the
same invoke the viewer to contemplate what is unseen below the surface.
There is minimal but recognizable reference to Tomales Bay in Coastal
Marin, but the art is about planet water. Sue
Lives in Point Reyes Station. She attended the University of Wisconsin
and later graduated from the San Francisco Art Institute. Along the
way she took classes at Sonoma State and Indian Valley College where she
was inspired by Ted Greer and Wally Hedrick. |
